 All About Visas

If You Have Been Denied

There are many reasons why you may be denied a student visa. US officials make decisions about student visas on an individual basis. Fortunately, if you have been denied a student visa, you are allowed to apply again. In fact, you may apply a total of three times in one year.

To give you a fair and impartial hearing, the US Embassy typically requires another official to interview you for these new applications. However, it is still very important that you prepare yourself properly.  You can help your chances by remembering exactly why you were declined the last time. Did the first official show concern about your finances? Then bring new information that details how you will pay for your education. Did you fill out the paperwork incorrectly? Then bring in corrected forms this time.

Learn from the mistakes of your first interview and you'll greatly increase your chances for success.
